This collection shows a command of traditional techniques with a focus on narrative-driven artwork. Each piece communicates complex themes through a blend of textures and symbolism, enriching and informing my architectural design approach.
Worn Journeys
A representation of the passage of time, this piece uses worn, battered shoes to symbolize the challenges and events that have been overcome. Resting on a box labeled 2004-2018, the painting reflects the end of a chapter, capturing themes of resilience and renewal. Through intricate brushwork and subtle hues, it portrays a comforting transition into new beginnings. Gouache.

Renewal
Set against the backdrop of a clock, this digital self-portrait symbolizes the passage of time and the process of renewal. White spider lilies surround the figure, representing purity, new beginnings, and the burial of old memories, contrasting the more common red spider lilies and offering a hopeful perspective on change. Procreate + MediBang.

Greetings from Not Home
A postcard-format acrylic painting of a plane sinking off the BC coastline, lettered like a souvenir greeting. It holds the tension of arriving somewhere that is not home, longing and displacement wrapped in a cheerful tourist frame. Acrylic on canvas.

Self Portrait
An acrylic self-portrait in headphones and glasses against a pale blue field, painted in flat blocked planes of colour.
