Heart Hub

The Heart Hub project embraces the unique form and essence of the heart, integrating the symbolism of 'home is where the heart is' by transforming the heart into a literal structure. Using the waffle technique, a model was crafted that captures the organic curves and solid mass of the heart while maintaining a structured complexity. The approach is grounded in the dual nature of the heart, both its biological function and symbolic meaning. The layered waffle technique sculpts an intricate, lifelike form while introducing a playful architectural twist. Turning the heart into a home explores the relationship between organic form and inhabitable space. The rhythmic patterns of the laser-cut components mimic the pulse of life, and the spatial arrangement inside plays with the idea of inhabiting an emotional core. To elevate the conceptual narrative, the project was displayed as an assembly kit, inviting interaction and discovery. This decision emphasizes the modularity of both heart and home, where each piece contributes to a larger, more personal meaning. The playful, yet meticulous assembly process mirrors the complexity of building both physical structures and emotional connections. This project blends artistic abstraction with architectural clarity, exploring both the technical aspects of digital fabrication and the conceptual depth that drives design thinking. The tactile nature of the assembly kit reinforces the notion that creating space, much like building relationships, is an intimate and hands-on process.
